Celebrating Leadership and Governance at the President’s Dinner and Induction Ceremony
Corporate leaders and governance experts convened for the President’s Dinner and Induction Ceremony, a prestigious gathering hosted by the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria dedicated to advancing ethical leadership and robust governance practices. The event spotlighted the significance of sound corporate governance as a cornerstone for sustainable growth and organisational excellence.
The President’s Dinner provided a platform for thought leaders to discuss the evolving governance landscape, emphasising the role of corporate governance in driving sustainable growth and ethical leadership. The evening’s programme combined a celebration of milestones with a focus on shaping the future of governance in Nigeria and beyond.
A major highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by renowned business leader Mrs. Ibukun Awosika. Speaking on “Stakeholder Capitalism: Rethinking Corporate Purpose and Governance,” she emphasised the critical role governance plays in shaping responsible and effective organisations that create value for all stakeholders.
“What governance does is that it gives us guidelines, responsibilities, accountable laws, and rules that ensure we are checked, accountable, and transparent in how we do things.” Her thought-provoking insights resonated with the audience, setting the tone for governance in promoting accountability and transparency at every level of an organisation.
The event also witnessed the induction of Seventy-four (74) individual members and six (6) corporate organisations into the Society which was a defining moment of the ceremony. These new members, representing a wide array of industries, joined The Society’s mission to promote accountability and leadership excellence.
The newly inducted corporate members include:
Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe, Cedrus Group Africa, ESG In Action Africa Ltd, R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) Plc, Commercio Partners Limited and Zedcrest Group.
Their inclusion reflects the Society’s continued expansion as a hub for governance-focused collaboration and innovation.
The Event also serves as a testament to Society’s dedication to fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and ethical leadership. Not only did the event celebrate the Society’s achievements but also reaffirmed its role in shaping the governance landscape for the future.
