Call for Applications

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN) is proud to launch its Corporate Governance Advisory Pro Bono Initiative. This initiative is aimed at empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and non-profit Organisations (NPOs) in Nigeria by providing expert support to help them establish strong corporate governance frameworks that promote transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

SCGN is offering pro bono advisory services to one SME and one NPO, helping them build effective governance structures tailored to their specific needs. This initiative supports our mission to advance corporate governance practices across Nigeria andcontributes to the development of strong, ethical leadership in the private and public sectors.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Corporate Governance Advisory Pro Bono Initiative, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be a registered SME or NPO in Nigeria with at least two years of operation.
• Demonstrate a commitment to developing and implementing corporate governance best practices.

Pro Bono Iniative

What Does the Pro Bono Service Include?

SCGN will provide the following services to selected Organisations:

Tailored Corporate Governance Framework:

SCGN will design a customized governance framework, including the creation of governance policies, structures, and procedures that align with the Organisation’s specific needs.

Board Structure Guidance:

We will offer guidance on establishing an effective board structure that ensures strong leadership, oversight, and accountability.

Training and Support:

SCGN will provide training on the implementation and management of the governance framework, ensuring that the Organisation can effectively sustain these practices over time.

Required Documents

• Certificate of Incorporation
• Tax Identification Number (TIN) certificate
• Proof of address (recent utility bill or lease agreement)
• Annual Report for the last two years
• Letter of commitment from your Board or Leadership
