Mr Ibrahim Dikko

Mr Ibrahim Dikko was born on the 16th of March 1966 in Lagos to the family of Late Malam and Mrs Yahaya Dikko. He attended Kings College Lagos before proceeding to the UK where he obtained his A’ Levels from Repton School, Derbyshire. He graduated with an LL.B from the University of Buckingham, then proceeded to Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London for his LL.M [Commercial & Corporate Law]. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990.
Mr. Dikko’s career spans 31yrs in banking, information technology and telecommunications. He was in the team that set up the first Discount House in Nigeria where he worked and rose to become the Chairman of First Securities Discount House (now FSDH Merchant Bank) between 2002 – 2012. He was a partner and executive director at Resourcery Plc where he led business development and was responsible for its expansion outside Lagos.
In 2007, joined the project team as the pioneer member of the group that set up EMTS Ltd (trading as Etisalat Nigeria) where he was Director for Regulatory Affairs and then Vice-President for Regulatory & Corporate Affairs until he left is 2017. In this role, he achieved many firsts in telecoms and competition regulation with key roles in the start and adoption of mobile number portability, asymmetric interconnection rates regime, dominance determination and exemptions for new and sub-scale market entrants with a view to levelling the playing field. He was a Committee Member that drafted the Telecommunications Industry Code of Corporate Governance.

He currently consults independently in regulation and regulatory affairs and is an independent director on the boards of CSCS Plc, Custodian Insurance Ltd, Baker Hughes Company Limited, Comercio Partners Limited, The Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria, The Society for Art Collection and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
He is married to Aisha-Melanie and they have 2 children. He enjoys swimming, classical and jazz music and is a member of The Lagos Motor Boat Club, The Lagos Polo Club and Ikoyi Club.
